Kidney Interrupted – Kidneys On The Go

Today, I’d like to know your thoughts on traveling.

Be it a few hours, overnight or weeks at a time.  For those of you on dialysis, logisticaly, you surely have more planning. It must be very confusing for the newly diagnosed, as well.

At this point in my journey, I find it harder and harder to travel any length of time. One day is ideal for me and I’m dragging at the end of that. My typical day consists of 6 to maybe 8 hours of good energy.  The earlier in the day the better. It seems at 3pm, my energy just rushes out of my body like an alarm has been set. I’m talking physical AND mental energy. After that, I’m done.

On overnight stays, I find it particularly challenging. That can be handled easy enough but add another night or two and I become discombobulated!! I used to think people get set in their ways and I guess I was right! But, there is a solid reason behind that. Especially when afflicted with a diseased body. Routine is everything in this kind of game!

The comfort of home is something I crave when being gone too long. I fear my ‘gypsy’ days are gone and thats ok. Being healthy and having peace is more of a blessing these days! How about you? Do you find it harder being away from your creature comforts as time passes? Or, is it just me?

Be comfy y’all! 💚
